# Pre-Screening Requests

> Review, accept, and reject intake requests from attorneys seeking your expert witness services.

# Pre-Screening Requests

When attorneys submit intake requests through your form, they appear on your Pre-Screening Requests page. This is where you review each request and decide whether to accept or reject it.

## Accessing pre-screening requests

Click **Pre-Screening** in the left sidebar to view your intake request queue. You can also click the **Pending Requests** stats card on your dashboard.

## Request list

The pre-screening page displays a list of all intake requests with the following information for each:

| Column         | Description                                        |
| -------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| Attorney Name  | The name of the attorney who submitted the request |
| Firm           | The attorney's law firm                            |
| Case Type      | The category of the case                           |
| Date Submitted | When the request was submitted                     |
| Status         | Pending, Accepted, or Rejected                     |

## Filter tabs

Use the filter tabs at the top of the page to view requests by status:

* **All** -- Shows every request regardless of status
* **Pending** -- Requests awaiting your review (default view)
* **Accepted** -- Requests you have accepted (these become cases)
* **Rejected** -- Requests you have declined

  Focus on the Pending tab during your daily review. Prompt responses to intake requests signal professionalism and increase your chances of being selected for the case.

## Reviewing a request

Click on any request to open the detail view. Here you can see the full information the attorney provided:

* Attorney contact details and firm information
* Case description and type
* Timeline and urgency level
* Any attached documents or supporting materials
* Additional notes from the attorney

## Accepting a request

When you accept a request, it becomes an active case on the platform.

    Read through the case description, timeline, and any attached documents to determine if the case is a good fit for your expertise.

  <Step title="Click Accept">
    Click the **Accept** button on the request detail page.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Case is created">
    A new case is automatically created and appears in your Cases & Records list. The attorney is notified that you have accepted their request.

## Rejecting a request

If a case is not a good fit, you can reject the request.

    Determine why the case is not suitable (outside your specialty, timeline conflict, etc.).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Reject">
    Click the **Reject** button on the request detail page. You may optionally provide a brief reason for the rejection.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Attorney is notified">
    The attorney receives a notification that their request was declined. They can then seek another expert.
  </Step>

  Rejecting a request does not negatively affect your account or standing on the platform. It is better to reject a case that is not a good fit than to accept it and underperform.
